Art has been my companion for as long as I can remember. Encouraged from a young age, I grew up immersed in a world where my love for art intertwined seamlessly with my fascination for nerd culture. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UBCO, deepening my understanding and appreciation for art's rich history.
Originally, I envisioned merging my artistic talents and love for art history into a career as a high school art teacher. However, life had different plans. I soon realized that the conventional classroom setting wasn't my true calling. Instead, I was drawn to the vibrant and diverse world of tattooing, where I could combine my creativity with my love for Neo-Traditional art.
The journey wasn't immediate; it took two years of persistent searching before I found my place as an apprentice at Evil Genius Artworx in Kelowna. This apprenticeship has been transformative, elevating my skills and artistic vision to new heights. Donavan's mentorship not only honed my technical abilities but also inspired me to infuse my personal interests into my artwork.
This newfound inspiration led me to explore the realms of Pokémon and Anime within my tattoo designs, kindling a passion for color tattooing. Although black and grey work remains a staple in my repertoire, the vibrancy and dynamism of color bring an exciting dimension to my creations.
Today, while my heart still lies with Neo-Traditional imagery, I have also developed a deep affection for illustrative and anime styles of tattooing. This journey has been a blend of relentless passion, artistic exploration, and the joy of seeing my interests come to life through ink. As I continue to evolve and grow in this art form, I eagerly anticipate the unique and personalized stories I can tell through each tattoo I create.
